Okay. i'm a university student on Malaysia. Currently on my 2nd semester in my first year. At first I did not have any attention towards business. But, day by day my interest towards business is growing. I fell like i should be studying in a business course rather than in engineering course.
When I start my education in my 1st semester, I have plenty of free time. Most of the time I will play games and watch some movies in my room. Since I was far away from home, I feel lonely and it was hard for people around me to understand what i am saying because of my accent. Then slowly i made some friends but my life is still the same. Plenty of free time but still don't know what should I do with all that time i have and I just kept wasting my time by playing games. Finally, i was getting bored of playing games and I started thinking that i should use my free times to earn money but still i am not that serious in starting a business at that time.Until the semester break I still don't have much interest in business.
One day, I told my mom that I wanted a car to make it easy for me to go to my classes. My mom said that I could and I was so happy! When the 2nd semester started I was so thrilled and keep thinking about this new car I am having. It was taking a lot of time for my family to bought me a new car. They didn't keep me updated about the car they were going to give me. The more I waited the more i became bored and I stop expecting that i am going to have a new car.
Than, last week mom texted me that i'm not going to have a new car, which makes me really disappointed. After that, I started thinking that if I had a monthly income i pay for the car insurance every month and i could ask my brother to pay the deposit for the car. I can ask for my mother, but i decided that my mother went trough some hard time raising us and giving us money since we were kids, so i decided that I don't want to ask my mom for money ever again. I'm 20 years old now, I can make my own money now. Jobs, Forex, Adsense and many other things came trough my mind. I was thinking of an idea for me to make some money.
I had tried all that a university student could. But, I am lacked of knowledge and experience in Adsense and forex. I, once, even tried to develop an Android application and sell it in the Android Market. As usual, I don't have the knowledge and experience. I search all the methods in making money in the internet and I just couldn't find something that suited my life as a student.
Then, something struck me when I tried to buy my girlfriend a watch for her birthday. I saw the biding section of the site where i ordered a watch. An idea come to me in an instant. What if i take part of a biding and win it with a cheap price and then sold the item for a little bit bit higher price than with what i pay. One night I was searching an item that I can pay (I have a really low budget to start on my business) than i found a watch. An ESPRIT PICO Ladies watch that have been bid for MYR48. I quickly checked its market price and it is sold for MYR100. I waited untill 10 second left on the biding duration to place my bid so that others can't make a higher bid. Then it turns out that my strategy works! I win the bid for MYR49!! I was so excited! I have to pay an additional MYR12 for postage, so the total is MYR61. I'm planning to sell it for MYR70 with free postage. This is my 1st item! I already put an ad about the watch on an online shop. I hope it catches peoples eyes and buy it fast. I'm really excited because this is my first item that i put on sale after I decided what business i should do.
People can use different ideas to start their own business. For Example you can rent your car, which i can't do because i don't have a car. Make sure you search what product sit on top of the market based on your place. In my place, the top products are accessories, gadget, cellphone and car rental. So make sure to start a business with high demand products.
